We require an enthusiastic and committed teacher of KS3 & KS4 Science ideally with a biology and/or chemistry specialism.  This post may be of interest to newly qualified teachers or experienced colleagues who wish to join a thriving and successful school.

The Science Faculty at the Fernwood School consists of 14 teaching staff. The staff are specialists in their field of science, delivering high quality and innovative lessons to our students. The development of pedagogy at The Fernwood School is something we are deeply passionate about and the successful candidate would contribute to the schemes of learning with ideas, activities and resources.

The Science Faculty continues to enjoy success with outstanding KS4 results.  Our students are taught in classes set broadly on ability for the most part, with mixed ability classes in years 7 and 8. The curriculum is designed through all 5 years to have a balance of the three science specialisms alongside key scientific skills (such as planning and data analysis) running throughout.

We require an enthusiastic, innovative and committed teacher of KS3 & KS4 Science. We are ideally seeking teachers who specialise in biology or chemistry but are open to strong teachers from all specialisms. The successful candidate will be joining a talented, successful and supportive faculty, where teaching and learning is at the heart of our collaborative practice. The school has recently grown and now accommodates 1500 students across 2 key stages, the successful candidate will play an integral part in ensuring high standards of practice are maintained for all children.
